Months ago the Mrs. asked me if I wanted to participate in NYC’s Wine and Food Festival. I agreed and after much deliberation and counting our change we decided on Carts in the Parc hosted by Andrew Zimmern.
….Fast forward to today…
We arrived excited with bellies empty and tupperware in purse #dontjudgeme.
We planned our stategy and ATTACKED!
( The random people I photographed are the actual Chef’s of each truck)
On the menu: Veal Schnitzel with austrian potato salad & white wine braised sauerkraut.
My thoughts: Delish and wish I had 2nds. The veal was cooked to perfection and the potato salad was a awesome combination.
Shout out to Chef Oleg Voss and his sidekick for the day and the Mrs. blogging friendΒ Molly Yeh π
On the menu: Sweet Potato and Peanut dumpling fritters.
My thoughts: I took the dumpling off the bun and it was so flavorful! π
On the menu: Lamb Fez: braised leg of lamb w/ prunes and roasted almonds on couscous Moroccan mint tea
My thoughts: The lamb and sauce was YICK but the couscous was good.
Andrew Zimmern/Michael White
On the Menu: Panino de Lingua con salsa verde
My thoughts: Umm tongue? Are you kidding me? No thank you.
On the Menu: Salted Pimp (Vanilla soft serve, dulce de leche, sea salt, dipped in chocolate)
My thoughts: I had seconds so this was a “winner winner chicken dinner”!! I love me some sweet and salty!
The Gay’s were absolutely delightful! And they won Critics Choice!! π Woo-hooo!!
On the Menu: Brownies, Cookies, Bars
My thoughts: Yum. Everything was delish but my favorite was the Pecan Butterscotch bars
Shout out to Chef Kim. Thanks for letting me take some home π
On the Menu: Falafel & Beef Shawarma
My thoughts: My fave of the whole event. Everything was flavorful and scrumptious. Spicy but not flaming π
On the menu: Whatchamacallit Cupcake & Salted Caramel Shake
My thoughts: The cupcake was so moist and I could have had a full cup of the shake.
On the menu: Thin Crust Cheese Pizza
My thoughts: I’m a sucker for some pizza but I didn’t care to much for the crust.. Tasted like pita..
On the menu: Spicy Chicken Biyani & Kati Roll
My thoughts: Ehhhh it was spicy. But the smell of Saffron was making me gag so after 1 bite I was through. It looked pretty though.
On the menu: Galbi short rib taco
My thoughts: I wish I would have tried this first. I was a little traumatized by the taste of lamb so the short rib inevitably tasted like lamb to me =/ But aside from that it was flavorful.
Amongst all the wonderful food we did have some food celebrity people like SPIKE from Top Chef (The Mrs. Biggest Crush), Gail Simmons, Andrew Zimmern.
And I totally confess I was a FAT KID!!!! πBut it was totally worth it!!!xoxo!
amazing!! your pics are so cute π thanks for the shout out!!!
now i’m hungry…THANKS!
