[I *heart* NYC] Society Cafe + Summer Stages

@Mirrs2 came to visit me and of course I had to show her a good time. I had been hearing great things about Society Cafe on 114 and Fredrick Douglas so we decided to go give it a try.

Mirrs opted for Stuffed French Toast with a Mimosa while I picked Red Velvet Waffles, eggs, and turkey bacon.

Delish. Delish. Delish.

The waffles were delightful but a bit to sweet, I think I would have them again for dessert.

…and the turkey bacon.. nom.nom.nom… I could eat all day! 😉

After we stuffed our faces we walked over to 72 + Park to enjoy an afternoon of good music courtesy of  Summer Stages.

And a fabulous afternoon it was!

I was EXTRA excited when they announced my newest favorite artist

[Random Ramblings] We The Pizza • Washington, D.C

This past weekend I took a little trip back to D.C

I was longing for some quality time with my  B.F.F Jill and she was wishing the same. 🙂

She asked me what I wanted to do and I said “nothing” butttttttt Georgetown Cupcakes + We The Pizza.

We the Pizza is owned by Spike Mendelsohn’s. You might remember him from cycle 10 of Top Chef. He also owns Good Stuff Eatery right next door. ( Delish! I ate there on my last trip )

Loved this wall! “We” 🙂There were so many choices! I was quite overwhelmed!Nom Nom Nom 😀Mack decided to get experimental … lolI went with a simple Sicilian and Buffalo ChickenIt was delicious! Mack our adventurous weekend was fabulous. LOL 🙂And I even got to see Meli twice! SCORE!!!! 🙂

[ Miami, Florida Wedding] Edwina + Gavin

Brief story about Edwina and Gavin:

They met through a mutual friend in Oct 98′. Gavin a senior at Miami Jackson and Edwina a little ole’ freshman at Coral Reef. Since Edwina was still a “baby” in  her parents eyes their blooming courtship was closely monitored 😉 Gavin quickly gained the love of Edwina’s family (including two older brothers) 🙂 .Through the distance Gavin in Tallahassee @ FAMU and Edwina in Orlando @ UCF they remained close but after 6 years they decided to part ways… Only to reunite a few years later  after they both graduated and began their career paths in Central, Florida .

After twelve years “together” these lovely two wed 🙂

This was said to be the wedding of Summer 2010. Guest anxiously anticipated June 5, 2010.

The day started calmly in the bridal suite as Edwina gathered all her maids for an intimate moment where she shared her gratitude to everyone who was there to share in this special day. Once the tears were dry the magic began. 🙂
Something old.. Gavin you looked ravishing!! BLINNGGG!!!!She was simply stunning!Edwina you are BEAUTIFUL!!!! 🙂
Mr. + Mrs. Bullard could not have been more proud of their baby girl. They made sure to make her fairytale wedding come to life.
Riding in style… Mr. Bullard was hilarious on the ride to church… His words of wisdom were priceless! 🙂No details were spared. 🙂Live harpist 🙂What was so special about capturing this ceremony was seeing Edwina smile as Gavin looked at her. 🙂And my favorite part of the day… The “intimate” session..The love that these two share is amazing! Love these!! Soooo Edwina! 🙂They could not have been happier.
Such a handsome Deputy Sherif.. The reception was breathtaking. Loved Loved Loved! And the PARTY began! Steel Panist, Live Band, DJ, and even a  Junkanoo Band! Everyone was dancing! You thought I was kidding! 😉
The night ended at the Biltmore Hotel. A surprise from the brides parents.Can you tell we are tired? It was a long PERFECT day!
Edwina my dear friend and Soror THANK YOU for allowing me to capture this special day.You kept me laughing ALL DAY!  I Love you!
Gavin you are coolest Sherif I know! Thank you for being so attentive and wonderful always!

[NYC to DC] Adventures with Brother and Mrs. Boots

Brother decided to come spend his vacation with me. Well not really, but I happen to live in NYC and it was a free place to stay. lol. I kid. He arrived on my birthday evening and was ready to explore the city. We first adventured to the Highline, one of my favorite locations in the city. Every time I go it looks different and I discover new things. It was a bit hot so our walk up there wasn’t too long.

While brother explored the 14th street apple store (he’s obsessed), Mrs. Boots and I picked up some Ked’s, which I’ve  wanted since forever, and patiently waited at Jackson Square Park ( corner of 8th Ave and Greenwich St) for brother to finish.
Our food tour guide (Mrs. Boots) suggested we venture to the Village to KESTE known for the best “Neopolitano” pizza in NYC. It was pretty darn tasty and the Nutella Pizza for dessert was just mouth watering!! Our old friend Olga stopped by to say Hi! 🙂 Fast forward to the next day, we @BoltBus to Washington, D.C. I of course slept most of the way. 🙂  In the morning we picked up “Chess” our ZipCar and headed for breakfast at BusBoys and Poets to sadly find out that we missed breakfast and had to get lunch. I had a grilled chicken pesto samich that was absolutely delish! The Mrs. was content with her quesadillas. Brother on the other hand had an avocado samich with sprouts that simply tasted like DIRT! 🙁

YAY time to site see! I’ve been to D.C a bunch of times to visit @KenziJai but never really got around to “sightseeing”. Of course we started off at the 1600 Pennsylvania Ave to see my boo Obama and Boe but sadly they weren’t there. They left me a note of apology.  He promised me cookies next time. 🙂

I love to stumble upon total randomness and we totally did. The Boy Scouts of America were celebrating their 100 year anniversary and random fact my brother is an Eagle Scout. He was a little bashful to admit his excitement he totally didn’t fool me. We walked around the camp site and like a 10 year old he attempted most of the games. 😉I tried to fit the Washington Memorial in my purse but it didn’t fit… I’ll bring a bigger bag next time. 🙂
Do you watch DC Cupcakes on TLC ( Georgetown Cupcakes )? I do 🙂  We waited in line for 45 minutes but it was worth it. Best cupcakes i’ve ever had.
The Capitol look so pretty at night. Glad that we saved it for last.. We even got to watch a concert! Yippie! ::FistPound::Brother really wanted to take a trip down memory lane.. We drove down to Churchville, MD a little ol’ town on the outskirts of Bel Air, MD which happens to be where we lived 18 years ago. Its our first “home” from the ground up. Many good memories there!! 🙂
We continued our blast from the past and stopped by the Baltimore Harbor. My memory remembers it a lot bigger then what it really is but nonetheless it was still pretty and peaceful (aside from the Anime Convention and wierd people dressed up as Zelda… or whoever they are..)Thought i’d give you a kiss to Stuart poor thing was being manhandled all weekend by Mrs. Boots!

Don’t be fooled she looks sweet but steals salt water TAFFY!We both got farmer tans the day before (lol) so in lieu of it we enjoyed tropical drinks 🙂Brother dined on crabs… Yick!I have to give a shout out to our host @KenziJai, Whit, and of course Tyson ( the dog pictured below)

We finished our last night at Old Ebbitt Grill ( a D.C staple) with our old friends Rodney and Ruby. Great Food, Great Laughs, Great Company!
