[A weekend with my Family]

This past weekend I was able to go home and enjoy some time with my family. Though I fly down to Miami every 6-8 weeks, I am constantly working so I really don’t get to spend quality with them. This weekend was extra special as the 5 of us were all together. πŸ™‚

We took advantage of this and celebrated at Texas De Brazil a Brazilian style steakhouse.

I don’t frequent steakhouses so this was whole new experience for lil ol’ me.

Photo below courtesy of http://www.texasdebrazil.com/The restaurant its self was beautifully decorated in a rustic ranchero theme.Β  The buffet salad/starch bar was located in the center of the room where we could serve ourselves all the veggies and starches our hearts desired. We were all given a medallion that would set the pace of our meal. If we were ready to have steak, chicken, or lamb we placed our medallion on the green side and a lovely waiter would come around with skewers filled with deliciousness. Once we stuffed our faces and wanted no more we turned the medallion the the red side.. πŸ™‚ My dad was a thug and cleansed his pallet with good ol’ Jose Cuervo… and of course I had to catch my brother in action being grubby πŸ™‚Momma and I had a little photoshoot…. See where I get my gap from.. Ha! πŸ˜€So the other siblings wanted a shot with mom too.. And Dad with his kids.. -1 (Tonny who lives in Cali) This picture makes me smile!!Love you family!! You guys are my world! <3

[ The Menendez Family… Introducing baby Celine. ] Miami, Florida

Tara called me early on a Monday morning and said that she saw her friend Stephanie’s pictures and fell in love. She had been searching for the right photographer for weeks and she said when she saw my images she knew I was “the one”. I was completely flattered!! 2 weeks later, I bypassed a blizzard, and I was back in Miami off to meet The Menendez Family. I knew that this session would be extremely special for Tara and Raul as Celine is their first and only child. When I arrived Tara wasΒ  getting her makeup finished (MariaΒ  you did a fabulous job! If you need a makeup artist please contact her mariaabreu@yahoo.com) and Raul was getting dressed. I wasted no time getting “comfortable”. There were so many areas in their home to choose from, I was like a kid in a candy store!

Miss Celine was a little bit camera shy at first but looking at the pictures below your would never know. πŸ˜‰ For the next 3 hours (though to me it felt like 20 minutes) I climbed on chairs, rearranged some furniture, made their master bath look like a studio, listened/sang to Celine Dion, sipped on H20, and captured some incredible images!! The sweetest part of the whole shoot was the enthusiasm that Tara and Raul shared with me. Tara had spent the last 2 weeks preparing for the shoot and she wanted everything to be perfect. Their were No complaints. No fuss. No worries. hehe. My kind of family! πŸ˜‰

With no further adieu, Meet the Menendez Family. πŸ™‚

We started off pretty casual on their big comfy couch…

Miss Celine was playing possum…

oOOo I LOVE this one.. Look how she’s holding her hands!! –AHH!! πŸ™‚

Such a perfect family.. You could feel the love!

A room fit for a princess!

.. just the two of us πŸ™‚

Little fingers.. little toes.. πŸ™‚

Tara got the orchids just for the shoot.. Perfect touch!! πŸ™‚

Love!

This is one of my faves as well.. Daddy’s little girl!

MUAH!

Shortly after I emailed the private gallery link, Tara called me. She thanked me a million times gushing about how ALL the images were more then she could have ever dreamed and that viewing them brought her to tears.

THANK YOU Menendez family for being one of the many reasons why I love doing what I do!

See you again soon!

xoxo!

[ LeKeith + Christian…Portraits of a Father and Son ]

Right when the leaves were changing and the weather was fabulous I had the wonderful opportunity to shoot with LeKeith and Christian. We decided to shoot on the Highline a fabulous NYC landmark. I was so excited to meet little Christian as LeKeith always spoke about how happy and energetic he was. — and that he was. πŸ™‚

Christian was THE perfect little man! He gave me so many different expressions was ohhh so curious!OMG I just wanted to take him home with me πŸ™‚

And here’s dad. Both of them were ever so stylish..

I loooovvvee this one!

There is nothing sweeter then Daddy’s love!

and there he goes to explore… πŸ˜‰

This wall was phenomenal!!!

In the words of Rachael Zoe… I just died!!! πŸ˜€

He’s going to be tall.. just like his daddy πŸ™‚

(Inside scoop) He’s sitting on a railroad track. The High Line was originally constructed in the 1930s, to lift dangerous freight trains off Manhattan’s streets. Now its a beautiful park with exotic trees and flowers.

LOVEEEEE the Colors!!!!!!!!!!!!

And my FAVE! Like father like son πŸ™‚

[ Erika+Jay+Laila+Jahlani…on a Friday afternoon ] Miami, Florida

I have known Erika for years due to the fact that I went to school with her younger sister Giselle. I have seen Laila + Jah grow up ever so quickly. They are a fun little bunch and I was super excited to finally photograph them! We chose to use Erika’s parents (Pam + Javier) backyard as our background. Javier has worked hard to keep his landscaping in tiptop shape so what better opportunity to showcase the fruits of his labor. πŸ˜‰

Little Jah was a little camera shy at first. I don’t think he understood why all the attention was on him and why everyone was shouting his name.. LOL!

Many times people expect lil ones to be smiling for pictures but I LOVE when they just are who they are. I totally love this serious one πŸ˜‰

We got out the ball and bat and Jah did not disappoint. Do I spy a little Alex Rodriguez in the making?

A family that plays together.. stays together…

And here’s the whole family

I lovvveeeee this one

…yes hes a mommas boy πŸ™‚

We took advantage and got some “engagement” shots of Erika and Jay.. Look out for their wedding post later this year!! πŸ™‚

Another FAVEE!!!! You girls are fabulous!

Jah was finally warming up.. here come the smiles!!!

This smile was totally worth the wait! MY *FAVE*

πŸ™‚

Of course I had to get a shot of the whole gang!

[ The Herdocia’s… ]

Little Annabella is getting so big! I photographed her when she was only a few months old.(Click here to view) She was a basket of smile and happy to see me, which is always a plus! We started off with some casual shots in the courtyard of Miami City Hall. The weather couldn’t have been more fantastic. I chatted with Fil + Daniela and promised to be done before Sunday football officially started. πŸ˜‰

Now tell me that this little one isn’t the cutest thing ever.

I totally love this family shot. Fil + Daniela’s smiles are priceless! πŸ™‚

INTEEENNNSSEEEE!!! She’s barely one and soo knows how to be FIERCE! πŸ˜‰
