[ I *heart* NYC ] Club 500

If you have been paying attention to my tweets, weekly I have mentioned going to CLUB500.

I have been participating for the past few weeks and I seriously can’t get enough. CLUB 500 is designed to teach and train you to reach you individual health and fitness goals.  Through a customized health and fitness program you will have the ability to burn 500 calories a day, which can lead to one pound (3500 calories) loss a week and that is only the beginning… The class is built upon the principle of  of personal training in a group atmosphere. Louie (our trainer)  is full of energy and it right there with us. He goes around giving you undivided attention and when you feel like giving up he works through the exercise by your side.

Did I mention how good the music is? I know I hate going to classes that play the best of the 90’s!! None of that here!! Custom mixed by  on of NYC’s hottest — DJ Marc Elias (currently spinning at the W Hotel). It keeps you motivated and just when you want to give up the beat switches up and you find yourself with a sudden burst of energy.

The class is a mix of stretching, core exercises, strength training, cardio, and boxing give you a FULL body workout that you feel right away. I won’t lie, class is intense! Im serious, its no joke! But I love that it pushes me further with the motivation of everyone around me.

I invite you to come join us! You will NOT be disappointed! If you want more details, email fitclub500@gmail.com

Big shout out to Cat, Dana, Jess, Kristina, Lindsay, Liz, Olinka, and Dre for always making class that much better! 🙂

[ Random Ramblings ] Crappy Day.

Do you ever have one of those days where things just don’t feel right?

Well today I am having one of those days. I had the worst panic attack at the office. I couldn’t breath, I was nervously shaking and all I could think about was calling my mom. I called her and she assured me that everything was Ok at home. She also told me she had just finished praying for my brother and I. – Thanks Mom.

As I got off the phone the only thing I could do was cry. Why? I don’t know. De + Frances did their best to console me but 4 hours later I still don’t know why I just can’t shake a gripping feeling I have around my heart and a lump in my throat. But my hope is that by talking about it.. I can release this horrible energy.. shoo fly.. don’t bother me

All I want to do is curl up in my bed and go to sleep. 🙁

So that’s the day I’m having today.

Mack keeps telling me to make my mind go somewhere else.. but easier said then done… But thanks for the efforts dear.

Thank you to everyone who tweeted their concern. I appreciate your support. Hoping to feel better soon.

xoxo! – Aimes

( the misses took this pic last fall, it made me smile. I love Fall.)

[ I *heart* NYC ] Street Sweets

I tweeted my friends (in my head) @StreetSweets early Sunday morning that I was looking forward to seeing them at Carts in the Parc.. They messaged me back and let me know sadly they were not participating because of some meanies but were grateful for the love and support. Because I love them so I decided to visit them anyways.. off to 75th and Broadway we went. 🙂

We ordered:

1-Iced coffee  1- Nutella Macarella 1- Chocolate cookie.

We sat happily on a bench and enjoyed each bite >:)

[I *heart* NYC] NYCWFF: Carts in the Parc

Months ago the Mrs. asked me if I wanted to participate in NYC’s Wine and Food Festival. I agreed and after much deliberation and counting our change we decided on Carts in the Parc hosted by Andrew Zimmern.

….Fast forward to today…

We arrived excited with bellies empty and tupperware in purse #dontjudgeme.

We planned our stategy and ATTACKED!

( The random people I photographed are the actual Chef’s of each truck)

Schnitzel & Things

On the menu: Veal Schnitzel with austrian potato salad & white wine braised sauerkraut.

My thoughts: Delish and wish I had 2nds. The veal was cooked to perfection and the potato salad was a awesome combination.

Shout out to Chef Oleg Voss and his sidekick for the day and the Mrs. blogging friend Molly Yeh 🙂

National Peanut Board

On the menu: Sweet Potato and Peanut dumpling fritters.

My thoughts: I took the dumpling off the bun and it was so flavorful! 🙂

Bistro Truck

On the menu: Lamb Fez: braised leg of lamb w/ prunes and roasted almonds on couscous Moroccan mint tea

My thoughts: The lamb and sauce was YICK but the couscous was good.

Andrew Zimmern/Michael White

On the Menu: Panino de Lingua con salsa verde

My thoughts: Umm tongue? Are you kidding me? No thank you.

Big Gay Ice Cream

On the Menu: Salted Pimp (Vanilla soft serve, dulce de leche, sea salt, dipped in chocolate)

My thoughts: I had seconds so this was a “winner winner chicken dinner”!! I love me some sweet and salty!

The Gay’s were absolutely delightful! And they won Critics Choice!! 🙂 Woo-hooo!!

The Treats Truck

On the Menu: Brownies, Cookies, Bars

My thoughts: Yum. Everything was delish but my favorite was the Pecan Butterscotch bars

Shout out to Chef Kim. Thanks for letting me take some home 😉

King of Falafel & Shawarma

On the Menu: Falafel & Beef Shawarma

My thoughts: My fave of the whole event. Everything was flavorful and scrumptious. Spicy but not flaming 🙂

Cake & Shake

On the menu: Whatchamacallit Cupcake & Salted Caramel Shake

My thoughts: The cupcake was so moist and I could have had a full cup of the shake.

Eddie’s Pizza Truck

On the menu: Thin Crust Cheese Pizza

My thoughts: I’m a sucker for some pizza but I didn’t care to much for the crust.. Tasted like pita..

Biryani Cart

On the menu: Spicy Chicken Biyani & Kati Roll

My thoughts: Ehhhh it was spicy. But the smell of Saffron was making me gag so after 1 bite I was through. It looked pretty though.

The Krave

On the menu: Galbi short rib taco

My thoughts: I wish I would have tried this first. I was a little traumatized by the taste of lamb so the short rib inevitably tasted like lamb to me =/ But aside from that it was flavorful.

Amongst all the wonderful food we did have some food celebrity people like SPIKE from Top Chef (The Mrs. Biggest Crush), Gail Simmons, Andrew Zimmern.

And I totally confess I was a FAT KID!!!! 🙂But it was totally worth it!!!xoxo!
